【合同インタビュー】主演映画『秘顔-ひがん-』日本公開のソン・スンホンが明かす俳優人生30年の素顔
[Joint Interview] Song Seungho, who is starring in the movie ”Higan” and will be released in Japan, reveals his true face in his 30 years as an actor
The thriller film "Higan" by PENG SOO, which debuted at No. 1 in Korean cinemas and has attracted over 1 million viewers despite being banned for people under the age of 19, will be released on June 20th (Friday).
) will be released in Japan. This is a closed-door psychological drama where love, desire, and betrayal intersect. The role of Sung-jin, a man who hides "another face" behind his public face as an orchestra conductor, is played by talented actor
We interviewed Seungho, who came to Japan for a fan meeting, and he candidly talked about the difficulties he faced in preparing for his role, his unexpected side on set, and even the "secret to staying young."
In "Addicted to Love," Song Seung-ho plays the perfect elite soldier Kim Jin-pyo, who embodies a man torn between outward success and hidden lust.
Regarding the difference between that role and the role of the conductor Sung-jin, who has hidden desires, that he played in "Higan," he said, "Both characters have some kind of desire."
"Jin-pyeong in 'Addicted to Love' is an ambitious soldier who wants to rise to the top of the ranks. He married the daughter of a general and was on the path to becoming an elite.
However, she meets the love she really wants and is drawn to Jung Ga Hoon, played by Lim Ji Yeon. In this movie, she also gets engaged to someone she doesn't want, but her fiancee, Cher, is a substitute for her.
I think Sung-jin in "Secret Face" is a bit more obsessed with desire than Jin-pyung."
Both roles portray inner desires and human instincts. Director Kim Dae-woo's works delve into the invisible parts of human beings and their subconscious.
"There are sad and sympathetic aspects to the character of Sung-jin. Some scenes were edited out of the film, and not much about his background was explained," he said.
He doesn't have a wife, but even though he looks like he grew up in a wealthy family with an orchestra conductor, he actually started out in an environment where his parents worked in a restaurant.
From there, he rose to become a conductor. To those around him, he may appear to be a greedy person blinded by success. In fact, he also had that purpose in getting engaged. However, in his own way,
He has a strong sense of self-respect and doesn't show his desires. He also has a skeptical side, so he seems like a very realistic character.
In fact, if I met someone like him in real life, I wouldn't like him very much.
"Maybe it's a bit sad (laughs)," he said jokingly, but added, "But it's sad, and I can sympathize with him somehow." Sungjin met MIJOO, a cellist who was standing in for his fiance, and they started having an affair.
However, this is related to his own past and the deep wounds that MIJOO carries. "MIJOO is also a girl who has suffered many emotional wounds, and through her, Sungjin sympathized and empathized. MIJOO is also
I felt a sense of affinity with him when I learned that he had lost his parents at a young age and had become a cellist under difficult circumstances.
I think that. It was like a spark flew. It may not be exactly love, but I think that it was because we both had hurt each other that we ended up cheating.
" At the filming site, we also got a glimpse of an unexpected side of Song Seungho. According to his co-stars, there were rumors that he was constantly making dad jokes...
"I don't remember if I was telling any dad jokes (laughs). I'm a MBTI (personality tester)
Since my personality type is I (introverted), I am shy when I meet someone for the first time and it is difficult for me to become close to them right away. However, when I am with people I am close to, I joke around and act silly.
For people who don't know me that well, that side of me may have seemed fresh to them. I don't remember what joke I told, but I don't think it was funny (laughs)."
In his everyday life, Song Seungho is said to have a slightly blunt and unfriendly side. "I think he is the complete opposite of the characters who look at women with a lovely gaze, like in 'Autumn in My Heart' and 'Summer Scent.'
"Maybe," he said with a laugh. He came to Japan this time to meet his fans for the first time in a long while. He said he was moved from the moment he stepped off the plane at the airport.
"The sky is clear and the air is very good. PM2.5 (fine particulate matter) is a big problem in Korea.
I really envy Japan in that respect. All the food is delicious. When I was younger, I didn't eat many vegetables, but now I like them.
I used to ski in my home country, but I want to go to Niseko in Hokkaido in Japan. 30 years after his debut as an actor, Song Seungho is still active at the forefront.
"Honestly, it's a little scary when I hear it's been 30 years (laughs). It feels like it's gone by so quickly. I made my debut on October 21, 1996 with a sitcom, and time has flown by so quickly.
It's been a while. The one thing that never changes is that you don't have any sense of self (laughs). In Korea, there is a saying that "Once you have sense of self, you die young." So the secret to staying young is "before you have sense of self."
Even though he's older, Song Seungho still exudes a certain innocence and sincerity. His "hidden face" can be seen in "Higan" which will be released on Friday, June 20th.
