Samsung Electronics' domestic employees and executives reach 125,000, a ”record high”...Overseas numbers decline

Samsung Electronics' domestic workforce and executives exceeded 125,000, hitting a record high. While the number of domestic employees and executives increased year-on-year, the number of employees and executives overseas also increased.
According to the 2025 Sustainable Management Report released by Samsung Electronics on the 27th, the number of employees and executives at Samsung Electronics in Korea at the end of last year was
The number of employees and executives at Samsung Electronics in Korea was 125,297 in 2019, up by 4,500 from the end of 2023 (120,756).
The number has been increasing every year since exceeding 100,000. Meanwhile, the number of employees and executives overseas fell from 147,104 in 2023 to 137,350 last year, a decrease of about 10,000.
This is interpreted as a move to streamline personnel operations amid competition in overseas product markets. The total number of employees and executives, including those at home and abroad, was 262,647 as of the end of last year.
This is a decrease of 5,000 people compared to the end of 2023 (267,860 people). Meanwhile, when looking at the number of employees and executives by occupation, manufacturing was the largest with 105,571 people.
The second largest number of people were in development positions with 88,984 people, followed by sales and marketing with 23,466 people and quality, environment and safety with 18,731 people.
In addition, the number of employees and executives by rank was 164,895 employees, 96,294 executives, and 1,458 executives at the managing director level or above.
