The production team behind the movie "Helpless" has warned about the risk of no-show scams. The film's distributor, CJ ENM, said on the 24th (today), "Recently, the real names or names of the director and production staff of "Helpless" have been stolen.
"We continue to see confirmed cases of so-called 'no-shows' where people impersonate related parties to make restaurant reservations or order expensive alcoholic beverages, then never make contact again," the agency said.
They continued, "The production staff is aware of the seriousness of the situation, and will not disclose any information to outside parties, regardless of the circumstances, using the director, lead actor, title of the work, investment company, and production company.
"We will not be taking any bookings or proceeding with any reservations," the distribution company added. "Such malicious no-show behavior will be subject to criminal liability for business obstruction and civil liability for damages.
"If you receive any reservations or orders that are suspected to be from a false production staff member, please do not respond and take special care to avoid any damage," he said.
Previously, when a no-show scam involving the director, lead actor, film name, investment company and production company of "Helpless" was rampant, the distributor immediately took responsibility for the case.
Meanwhile, "Can't Be Helped," starring actor Lee Byung Hun and actress Song Ye-Ji-In, is about a company employee named Yoo Man-soo who is satisfied with his life to the point that he feels like he has "accomplished everything."
