According to the "2025 Global Wealth Report" released by Swiss investment bank UBS on the 18th of this month (local time), 100,000 Koreans with assets of more than $1 million (approximately 145 million yen) last year
The total number of wealthy people in the country will be 1.301 million, up from 1.295 million in 2023. The country has the largest number of wealthy people among the 56 developed and developing countries surveyed.
The United States was the largest country with 23.831 million cases, followed by China (6.327 million), France (2.897 million), Japan (2.732 million), Germany (26.
The top three countries in the world are: United Kingdom (2.624 million), Canada (2.098 million), Australia (1.904 million), and Italy (1.344 million).
In the Asia-Pacific region, after Japan, the wealthiest countries are South Korea (759,000), Taiwan (647,000), Hong Kong (647,000) and Singapore (331,000).
According to UBS, there are approximately 60 million wealthy people in the world, with their combined assets reaching $226.47 trillion (approximately 32,866.99 trillion yen).
UBS predicts that over the next five years to 2029, more than 5 million new wealthy people will be born worldwide, driven by growth in the United States and other factors.
