China's cross-border e-commerce imports and exports to exceed 20,000 formers in 2024 - Chinese report

According to the General Administration of Customs, the volume of cross-border e-commerce imports and exports in 2024 will reach about 2.71 trillion former (about 54.7 trillion yen), up 14% from the previous year.

Imports increased 4.1% to approximately 555.25 billion former (approximately 11.2 trillion yen), accounting for 3% of total merchandise imports.
The main export destinations were the United States (36.2%), the United Kingdom (11.7%), and Germany (5.7%).
The top three exporters are the United States (15.8%), Japan (10.5%), and Germany (9.8%). Consumables account for 97.5% of cross-border EC export items, mainly clothing, bags, jewelry, and accessories.

The departure points of cross-border e-commerce exports are mainly Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangsu, Shandong, etc. The arrival points of imports are mainly Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Beijing.
