A group of elementary school students complain of stomach pains after eating ”jelly” handed to them by a woman in her 40s (South Korea)

Police have launched an investigation after elementary school students in Incheon complained of stomach pains and nausea after eating jelly given to them by a woman in her 40s.

A report was received that "children who had eaten jelly given by a stranger were complaining of stomach pains" in front of the school. As a result of the police investigation, the vice principal of the school confirmed that four out of six elementary school students who had received the jelly had died.
The schoolchildren who ate the jelly were treated at a nearby hospital, and it was discovered that the jelly given to them by the woman in her 40s had expired.
Police retrieved the jelly from the scene and took the woman who gave it to the police station for questioning, after which she was allowed to go home. During police questioning, the woman said, "I wanted to share the jelly with my children, so I ate it.
The police are currently investigating whether the woman acted intentionally and the exact circumstances, and have asked the National Forensic Service to analyze the ingredients of the recovered jelly.
