China's total services trade rose 8.2% year-on-year in Jan-Apr: Chinese report
According to the Ministry of Commerce, China's trade in services continued its rapid growth trend in the first four months of this year. According to public data, the total value of trade in services in the first four months of this year increased 8.2% year-on-year to 2.6 trillion yen.
Of this, exports increased by 14.6% to 1,128,520 million formers (approximately 22,700 billion yen), and imports increased by 3.9% to 1,503,540 million formers (approximately 1,503,540 million yen).
The trade deficit in services was 375.02 billion formers (approximately 7.5 trillion yen), down 87.56 billion formers (approximately 1.8 trillion yen) from the same period last year.
The characteristics of trade in services during the same period are as follows: Trade in knowledge-intensive services is growing steadily. The value of exports and imports of knowledge-intensive services during the same period increased by 5.5% to 1.163 trillion yen.
Of this, exports increased 6.1% to 590.24 billion formers (approximately 11.9 trillion yen), and imports increased 4.6% to 426.12 billion formers (approximately 8.
The surplus was 164.12 billion former (approximately 3.3 trillion yen), an increase of 15.26 billion former (approximately 307 billion yen) from the same period last year.
Within the knowledge-intensive services trade, the import and export scales of other commercial services and electronic, computer and information services are relatively large.
The respective export and import values increased by 3.4% to 431.07 billion former (approximately 8.7 trillion yen) and 9.5% to 361.71 billion former (approximately 7.3 trillion yen).
Trade in travel services showed the highest growth. During the same period, the value of exports and imports of travel services increased by 14.7% to 756.78 billion former (approximately 15.2 trillion yen).
Of the total trade in services, travel services accounted for the largest proportion, of which exports and imports increased by 79.9% and 7.8%, respectively.
