Jeju Air launches new Incheon-Hakodate route... Expansion of regional routes in Japan = Korea
Jeju Air, a South Korean low-cost carrier (LCC), has launched a new route to Hakodate, Japan, accelerating the expansion of its routes to regional cities.
On the 5th, Jeju Air launched its first flight on the Incheon-Hakodate route at Incheon International Airport.
The inaugural flight from Incheon to Hakodate was 97.4% boarded, making it virtually full. This new route will be operated exclusively by Jeju Air. Flight schedule is Thursday
The flight departs from Incheon International Airport at 1:45 pm and arrives at Hakodate Airport at 4:20 pm.
The flight departs at 5:20 and arrives at Incheon International Airport at 8:25 pm. Jeju Air is expanding its service to regional routes in Japan, starting with Hakodate, followed by Matsuyama, Shizuoka, Oita, Hiroshima, and Kagoshima.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Aviation Information Portal System, the number of passengers on Jeju Air's routes to Japanese regional cities was 190,000 in 2022, down from 190,000 last year.
The number of passengers has more than tripled to 603,000. A Jeju Air official said, "We will continue to expand our route network to various regions and provide differentiated travel experiences."
"I hope that people will come and relieve the fatigue and stress they have built up in the cool weather of Hakodate."
