Former President Yoon Seok-yeol and First Lady Kim Gun-Hee visited a polling station for the 21st presidential election.
President Yoon and First Lady Kim attended the meeting at Wonmyeong-gu, Seocho-gu, Seoul, at around 9:40 a.m. on the 3rd.
I visited an elementary school polling station. President Yoon arrived in a navy blue suit, and Mrs. Kim accompanied him in a white jacket. This presidential election is a by-election following the impeachment of President Yoon.
The president was removed from office in an impeachment trial by the Constitutional Court on April 4. The new president elected today will not go through the electoral process and will immediately begin his term.
As of 10 a.m., the nationwide voter turnout rate was 13.5%. The turnout rate in the last 20th presidential election was 11.8%.
