SEVENTEEN's 5th album initial sales exceed 2.52 million copies... Topping the album charts

Idol group 'SEVENTEEN' broke the record for the most K-pop initial sales volume (CD sales volume in the week immediately after its release) this year with its 5th full-length album.

According to Hunt Chart, an album sales volume aggregation website, SEVENTEEN's 5th full-length album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' sold a total of 2,521,208 copies during its first week of release (aggregation period May 26th to June 1st) and ranked first on the weekly album chart. This is the highest number among K-pop albums released this year.

On the day of their comeback, they became the first double million-seller in this year's K-pop music industry, and once again proved their position as the “best K-pop group” by setting a new record in terms of initial sales volume. SEVENTEEN will continue to increase their album sales even after the initial sales volume has been tallied, and there are high expectations for their future accomplishments.

HAPPY BURSTDAY" has been sweeping the album charts in Korea and abroad. Immediately after its release, the new album went straight to No. 1 on Hunt Chart's daily album chart and “Worldwide iTunes Albums,” and held the top spot on Oricon's “Daily Album Ranking” for five consecutive days (May 27th-31st). On China's QQ Music, it followed the No.1 position in the overall category of 'Digital Best Selling Albums' for both daily and weekly, and also won the 'Diamond Album' certification, which is granted when sales exceed 5 million yuan.

The performance of the title track 'THUNDER' was also unusual. The song occupied the highest position on the Bugs daily chart for two consecutive days (May 30th-31st). It also topped Melon's Top 100, which is known as the 'concrete chart' because of its low fluctuation in the upper range, and remains at the top of the list. The performance of 'THUNDER', which was performed on a music program earlier this month, has been receiving a positive response online, which is expected to further boost the song's rise in the music source rankings.
