”I will repay you with reform”... New Reform Party presidential candidate Lee Jun-seok votes in advance in Dongtan New City, a local district, on the 29th (South Korea)
Lee Jun-seok, presidential candidate of the New Reform Party, held a pre-voting session in his constituency of Dongtan, Gyeonggi Province on the 29th, the first day of advance voting for the presidential election to be held on June 3rd.
In his campaign speech, candidate Lee urged people to vote early, saying, "Please vote when you have time on both weekdays (29th and 30th)."
He continued, "Voting in advance may be difficult, but if you participate actively, we can truly change the country and put it on the path to reform, and we can all work together to help change the Republic of Korea.
"I will work hard to protect the dreams of the Republic of Korea and your dreams," Lee said.
I want you to participate actively. After the martial law (on December 3rd last year), the Republic of Korea is not faced with two paths: either going to the martial law forces again or going to the populist forces. There is a clear path forward.
In response to a question about whether the early voting would reduce the number of votes from Lee's main supporters, he said, "I'm very worried.
"Since the election is only two days long, we are concerned that our young supporters who are busy going to school or work will not be able to vote, so we will encourage our supporters to participate as much as possible."
On this day, candidate Lee worked to gather votes from office workers in the capital area, including Yeouido and Gangnam, which have a large floating population.
On the 29th, after the early voting in Dongtan, the protesters went to Pangyo New City, Gyeonggi Province, university towns such as Anam-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, and the food stalls in Jongno 3-ga.
He plans to travel around the country and campaign to encourage people in their 20s and 30s to vote early.
