China's installed power capacity up 15.9% year-on-year in January-April: Chinese report

The National Energy Administration recently released nationwide power industry statistics for January to April. As of the end of April, China's national installed power generation capacity was about 3.49 billion kilowatts, up 15.9% year-on-year.
Of this, solar power generation capacity increased by 47.7% to approximately 990 million kilowatts, and wind power generation capacity increased by 18.2% to approximately 540 million kilowatts.
In the first four months of this year, the average usage hours of power generation facilities nationwide was 1,008 hours, down 103 hours from the same period last year.
During the same period, the investment amount for power supply construction by major electric power companies nationwide increased by 1.6% year-on-year.
Of this, investment in power grid construction increased by 14.6% to 140.8 billion former (approximately 2.8 trillion yen).
