The Korean animated feature film "King of Kings (Life of Jesus)" has surpassed $60 million in cumulative North American box office revenue.
According to North American Box Office Mojo, the movie "King of Kings" will be announced at 7 pm local time on the 22nd.
The film made a total of $60.03 million (approximately 8.6 billion yen) at the North American box office, creating a global hit legend.
It ranked second at the box office, and on the 17th day of its release, it surpassed the North American final gross of the film "Parasite," becoming the number one film in the North American box office rankings among films exclusively produced in Korea.
This film was made entirely with Korean technology and capital, and was written and directed by director Jang Seong-ho, the CEO of MOFAC STUDIO, a CG/VFX specialist company, with his 30+ years of accumulated know-how.
The film took 10 years to complete, and the efforts were well received by the Rotten Tomatoes.
As can be seen from the Tomatoes popcorn score of 98% and CinemaScore A+ rating.
"King of Kings" is currently being shown in 50 countries around the world, including North America, and is expected to be screened in over 90 countries by the end of 2025.
It's scheduled to be released in Korea in the summer.
