According to the Civil Aviation Administration, total traffic volume across all civil aviation industries in April increased 13% year-on-year.
The volume of cargo transported by domestic routes increased by 7.2% to 8 billion ton-kilometers, while that of international routes increased by 26% to 4.93 billion ton-kilometers.
In terms of passenger transport, domestic passenger traffic showed stable growth due to brisk travel demand. The growth rate of domestic passenger traffic increased by 4.9 percentage points from the first quarter (January to March).
In addition, the volume of international passenger traffic increased by 25.9% compared to the same month last year. In terms of cargo transportation, the scale of domestic air cargo transportation expanded, and the growth rate increased by 4.5 points from the first quarter.
Air cargo traffic maintained rapid growth, increasing by 26.3% year-on-year. Meanwhile, according to data from the Civil Aviation Administration, international air transport performance stood out in the first four months of this year.
Passenger traffic increased by 31.9% compared to the same period last year, while freight and mail traffic increased by 22.6%.
