Actor So Ji Sub also falls victim to manager impersonation ”no-show” incident, warning to be careful
A scam involving someone impersonating the manager of actor So Ji Sub has been reported, and people are being warned to be careful. So Ji Sub's management office 51K posted on their official Instagram on the 21st (today) that
"Recently, there have been cases of fraud where people have pretended to be managers at our company in order to gain financial advantage, so we ask that you please be extra cautious," the company said.
They continued, "The impostor made group reservations under the pretext of a drinking party with our actors and asked us to prepare expensive alcohol.
"They use the 'no-show' method of unilaterally cutting off contact once preparations are complete," he said. "We do not make restaurant reservations outside under the names of our actors, and we do not accept reservations for items or purchases under any circumstances.
"We will not accept requests for the delivery of alcohol or other services," he emphasized. "All such requests are illegal, and if you receive a call that seems to be fraudulent, do not respond and immediately report it to the police."
"We recognize the seriousness of this matter and plan to take strong action against any misrepresentations or fraudulent acts," it added.
Meanwhile, So Ji Sub's next work will be the new Netflix series "The Square." The series is scheduled to be streamed from June 6th.
The film is a noir action movie based on the webtoon of the same name, in which the protagonist Ki-jun (played by So Ji-sub) is driven by the death of his younger brother Ki-seok (played by Lee Jun-hyuk), who was the number two in the organization.
The story follows a man who returns after a year to seek revenge and uncover the truth behind it all.
