On the same day, former Mayor Hong wrote on Facebook, "Tomorrow (the 30th), I will be leaving my party, which I have been familiar with for the past 30 years."
Former Mayor Hong said, "I no longer have a role to play in the party, and I no longer have any justification for remaining in politics."
