サムスン電子顧問、IEEEロバート・ノイス・メダル受賞
Advisor to Samsung Electronics, recipient of the IEEE Robert Noyce Medal
Kim Ki-nam, permanent advisor to Samsung Electronics (former president of the Korea Institute of Engineering), received the Robert Noyce Medal from the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
The Korea Academy of Engineering announced that Kim Kinam, an advisor to the Korea Institute of Engineering, received the IEEE Robert Noyce Medal at the 2025 IEEE Arnos Ceremony held in Tokyo, Japan on the 24th.
The Robert Noyce Medal is an award given by the IEEE to individuals who have contributed to the development of the global semiconductor industry.
The award was established in 1999. This is the second time a Korean has received the award, following Lee Yoon-woo (permanent advisor at Samsung Electronics) in 2012.
The Korea Academy of Engineering has awarded Kim Kin-am, a permanent advisor from the IEEE, the honor in the fields of memory and mobile processors.
"This honor goes to the people who have helped Korea's semiconductor industry grow to a global level," said Kim Ki-nam, a senior adviser to the company.
"I want to be with everyone," he said, "and I will continue to do my best to ensure that engineering contributes to opening up a better future for mankind."
