Jang Keun Suk quit smoking due to cancer battle... ”The opportunity that made me stronger” = ”Let's Go GO4”
Actor Jang Keun Suk, who appeared on MBN's “Let's Go Go 4,” captured the hearts of viewers with his funny and candid stories.

In the 11th episode of MBN's “Let's Go 4,” which aired on the 20th, 'Prince of Asia' Jang Keun Suk appeared and shared a variety of stories, including the first public appearance of a luxury single house in the 80sq.m. range, the behind-the-scenes of his dream performance at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, and how his life changed after his cancer battle. He also shared a variety of stories about his life that changed as a result of his cancer battle.

MCs Ahn Jung-hwan and Hong Hyun-hee were invited to Jang Keun Suk's house and were surprised at the clean yet cozy single house. Jang revealed that he does all the household chores directly without the help of others, and they enjoyed talking together about the food he prepared directly.

Jang revealed, “Since my cancer battle, I have been checking my blood pressure first thing when I wake up in order to manage it. So I did a tissue test, and it turned out to be thyroid cancer.”

Jang said, “There is a sense of fear that the word ‘cancer’ gives. They say that thyroid cancer is a good cancer, but where is the good cancer in the world? I was so upset that I did not tell anyone, including my family, for a week. My family seemed to be suffering because of me. Fortunately, instead of saying, 'What should I do?' my parents said, 'Let's schedule a date soon,' and then I was able to have the surgery quickly."

The MCs asked him if his attitude toward life has changed since his battle with cancer, and Jang Keun Suk replied, “I've started to take better care of myself. I try to reduce things that are bad for my health. I don't smoke anymore. Jang Keun Suk continued, “My cancer battle has made me stronger. It may sound cheeky, but I will make more money. I have a dream to share as much love as I have received. I am studying for a dream related to charity work,” he revealed, surprising everyone.

Jang Keun Suk also talked about his plans to enter the Japanese market. The MCs asked him when he first entered the Japanese market. Jang revealed that he held a fan meeting in Japan when he was 20 years old, and said, “I loved Japanese music when I was in junior high school. So I taught myself Japanese. Later, when I was in my third year of junior high school, I went to New Zealand to study and exchanged music CDs with a Japanese student friend, and saw Japanese singer SMAP perform at the Tokyo Dome. When I saw that, I said, 'I'm going to Tokyo Dome within 10 years,' and I went within seven years.”

However, Jang Keun Suk revealed that he had no memory of the Tokyo Dome concert, which was his dream stage. I didn't take care of myself and kept running (as a result). I don't know how I did it. I even said afterwards, 'That was me,'” he revealed. Jang Keun Suk also reminisced about his past, saying, “After the performance, I spent six months lying in bed sick and went to the hospital,” which made the audience feel sad.

Jang Keun Suk then talked about his past suffering from manic depression, “The name of the disease is manic depression type 2. For six months I had no motivation, and for six months I had ideas. Fortunately, I finished my plan successfully.” He showed his positive attitude and elicited admiration, saying, ”I thank manic depression for giving me ideas. Jang Geun-suk also commented, “For the first time in my life, I led a regular life (when I was working as a social service worker). After two years, my body and head became healthy, and I have been fine since then,” he revealed. ‘I think our pain is not for something great, but starts from small things,’ he said maturely, eliciting admiration.

Meanwhile, “Let's Go GO” Season 4 airs every Sunday night at 10:30 p.m. on the Korea National Move-in Celebration Tour program, in which MCs Ahn Jung-hwan and Hong Hyun-hee visit the homes of stars to see them and share their life stories, to which they send invitations.
