Bitcoin miner Bitdeer is expanding its mining footprint as trade war fears rattle global supply chains and cryptocurrency markets.
The company plans to invest in production in the U.S. On the 15th (local time), Bloomberg reported that BitDeer is mining Bitcoin itself in response to a slowdown in demand for mining equipment from other miners.
BitDeer plans to expand mining equipment production in the United States from the second half of 2025, which comes as U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to ban foreign mining.
"This is due to China's plans to impose tariffs on imports and promote domestic manufacturing," he added.
"Our plan going forward is to prioritize our own mining," LaBerge said. Regarding plans to expand manufacturing, he said, "We've been preparing for this for a long time."
"The goal is to revive domestic jobs and manufacturing."
