China's industrial producer gate prices fell 2.5% year-on-year in March: Chinese report

According to data recently released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China, the nationwide industrial producers' shipping prices in March fell 2.5% compared to the same month last year, and fell 0.4% compared to the previous month.
This was a 2.4% decrease from the same month last year and a 0.2% decrease from the previous month. Both the producer shipment price and purchase price in the first quarter (January to March) were down 2.3% from the same period last year.
Comparing industrial producer prices in March with the same month of the previous year, the total level of shipping prices fell by about 2.09 points, due to a 2.8% fall in production material prices among shipping prices.
Among them, extractive industrial prices fell 8.3%, raw material industrial prices fell 2.4%, and processing industrial prices fell 2.6%.
In addition, due to the impact of a 1.5% fall in the price of daily necessities, the total level of shipping prices fell by approximately 0.38%.
Among them, food prices decreased by 1.4%, clothing prices decreased by 0.3%, daily necessities prices increased by 0.7%, and durable consumer goods prices decreased by 3.4%.
On the other hand, among purchasing prices, the prices of ferrous metal materials decreased by 7.8%, fuels by 6.8%, and chemical raw materials by 3.4%.
Agricultural by-products decreased by 3.0%, building materials and non-metals decreased by 2.1%, textile raw materials decreased by 2.0%, and non-ferrous metal materials and electrical wires increased by 10.8%.
