トランプ大統領、結局中国に104%追加関税を課す...最悪の事態に陥る米中対立
President Trump imposes 104% additional tariffs on China after all... US-China conflict reaches worst
On the 9th, at 12:01 a.m. (US Eastern Time), US President Donald Trump decided to impose reciprocal tariffs of 11% to 50% on 86 countries, without exception.
The two sides have decided to add 104 percentage points to the tariffs. The average tariff rate for the US will jump to a whopping 126%. With no sign of compromise on either side, trade friction between the US and China is at its worst.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced that it will begin accepting applications for the Liberation Day holiday from President Trump.
Following the announcement of the 11-50% reciprocity-based individual tax rate for 86 countries, the government will begin accepting applications from 12:01 a.m. on the 9th.
The reciprocal tariff rates by country are: Korea 25%, China 34%, European Union (EU) 20%, Vietnam 46%, Taiwan 32%, Japan 24%.
△India 26%. Also, △Thailand 36%, △Switzerland 31%, △Indonesia 32%, △Malaysia 24%, △Cambodia 49%, △UK 10%.
△ South Africa 30% will be applied. For China, the tariff rate will be raised by a total of 104 percentage points after President Trump takes office.
The tariffs have already been raised by 10 percentage points twice, bringing the total to 50 percentage points, in addition to the reciprocal tariffs of 34 percentage points and China's retaliatory tariffs.
According to the report, the general average tariff rate in the United States before President Trump took office was 22.1%, but if this is added, the tariff rate on China will jump to a staggering 126.1%.
Since taking office, President Trump has continued to pressure China and raised tariffs, but China has shown no signs of negotiating.
In a statement, the ministry said, "We firmly oppose the US threat of imposing an additional 50% tariff," and added, "If the US goes ahead with the tariff hike, we will respond strongly to protect our national interests."
The ministry described the U.S. reciprocal tariff policy as "unfounded unilateral harassment" and said its response was "a legitimate measure to safeguard the normal international trade order. If the U.S. side insists on its own path,
"China will respond to the situation until the end."
