On the 12th, the personal information of Myung Jae-wan, a teacher who was arrested on suspicion of murdering 8-year-old elementary school student Kim Ha Nul with a deadly weapon on school grounds, was made public.
The Daejeon National Police Agency announced this morning that, "In accordance with Article 4 of the Act on the Disclosure of Personal Information of Suspects of Certain Serious Crimes,
"We will be releasing personal information on the suspect in the case of violation of the law on aggravated punishment (kidnapping and enticing of a person under the age of 13)."

The name, age, and photo of suspect Myung will be made public. According to Article 4 of the Serious Crime Disclosure Act, △the means of the crime were brutal and serious damage was caused, △there is enough to believe that the suspect committed the crime,
The suspect's face, name and age may be made public under certain conditions, such as the existence of sufficient evidence, the guarantee of the public's right to know, and the necessity for the prevention of recidivism and crime prevention, which are solely for the public interest.

The deliberation committee, which consisted of the following people, was reported to have made the decision after taking into consideration the brutality of the crime, the seriousness of the damage, and the opinions of the surviving families.
According to the Serious Crime Former Person Disclosure Act, the disclosure of former person information is allowed within five days after the decision is notified to the suspect.
However, since Myeong expressed his "no objection" to the decision to release his personal information, it was decided to release it today.
Myung is accused of murdering 8-year-old Haneul, who was inside an elementary school in Daejeon, at around 5:50 pm on the 10th of last month.
The suspect attempted to harm himself immediately after the crime, and was hospitalized for 25 days after undergoing venous suture surgery. He then had his first face-to-face interview with the police on the 7th of this month and was arrested the following day.
