Director Ryoo Seung-wan's new film "Veteran 2," starring Hwang Jung Min and Jung HaeIn, will be released at the 77th Cannes International Film Festival on the 21st.
"Veteran 2" will have its world premiere at 12:30 a.m. local time on the 21st at the Palais des Festivals Lumiere Grand Theater in Cannes, France.
"Veteran 2" is a story about a veteran detective, Seo Do-cheol (Hwang Jung-min), who is constantly chasing the bad guys, and a young detective, Park Sung-woo (Jung Hae-in), who joins the regional investigation team.
This is an action crime drama that follows a serial killer who has caused a stir in the world. It is a sequel to the movie "Veteran," which was released in 2015 and attracted 13.41 million viewers, and director Ryoo Seung-wan is back at the helm.
Prior to the premiere screening, director Ryoo Seung-wan, actor Hwang Jung-min, and Jung Hae-in are scheduled to light up the venue by attending a red carpet event.
In particular, this is the first time that director Ryoo Seung-wan has been awarded the Cannes Film Festival Critics Association Prize in 19 years, since the film "Crying Fist" (2005), which won the Cannes Film Festival Critics Association Prize.
This will be Hwang Jung Min's second time on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.
"Spirited Away" and "The Man Called Gold Star" have been invited to Cannes, but this will be Jung HaeIn's first time on the red carpet since "Spirited Away".
Along with this, CJ ENM, the distributor of "Veteran 2", released photos of the main cast of "Veteran 2" having fun in the area ahead of the official schedule on the 20th through the official SNS of the film division.

The two also took commemorative photos at the airport in relaxed outfits. "Veteran 2" will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival and then scheduled for release in Korea.
