歌唱力論争に巻き込まれた「LE SSERAFIM」、コーチェラ2回目公演に注目
LE SSERAFIM caught up in vocal controversy, attention focused on second Coachella performance
"LE SSERAFIM" was held on the 13th (local time) at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, America's largest music festival.
The group performed 10 songs over a 40-minute period at Coachella, marking the shortest period of time for a K-pop artist to perform at Coachella.
However, unlike their Korean performances, their unstable singing ability and off-key vocals caused controversy.
Many K-pop idols, including SSERA FIM, place too much emphasis on performance and rush to set records overseas, leading to a lack of understanding of the true essence of singers.
On the other hand, some people also said that performance is an important element of the stage, and that it is too harsh to expect intense choreography and perfect live performances.
Among them, SAKURA, a member of "LE SSERAFIM", expressed her feelings about the criticism. In a long post, she said, "I worked hard from preparing for Coachella to the day of the performance.
I wanted this performance to be enjoyed by people who didn't know us and people who were listening to our songs for the first time. I feel that today was an unforgettable and wonderful day.
"I wanted to make it a stage that would be a great opportunity for fans to see the band," he said of his impressions of Coachella. "I think that determination was conveyed and we were able to put on the best stage possible. It's been less than two years since our debut and we've already had a tour.
"We had only had one chance to perform on the Coachella stage, so we were proud of ourselves and enjoyed it, and we really put our all into this performance," he said. "We may seem immature in the eyes of others, but we are perfect.
There were no humans there and it's an undeniable fact that it was the best stage we've ever put on."
SAKURA said, "So, we hope to become an even better team from now on.
I was really looking forward to this performance, and it was born from my desire to work harder. No matter what anyone thinks, I believe in what I feel.
"I'm grateful to all the staff, dancers, band members, and everyone," he said, drawing attention with his vow. "Thank you so much, Coachella. I'll do my best next week too."
LE SSERAFIM, who made their American music festival debut at Coachella, are scheduled to perform at Coachella for the second time on the 20th.
