Sung Si Kyung's "Gyeongtakju" (cloudy rice wine), which he released in collaboration with Cheil Agricultural Corporation, won the grand prize in the cloudy rice wine category at the 2024 Korea Liquor Awards.
The Korea Alcohol Awards aims to discover and promote good alcohol and to revitalize the alcohol industry.
It is Korea's leading alcohol competition, which has been held annually since 2014 to promote the development of alcohol. Approximately 90 expert alcohol tasters from each field conduct blind tastings every year to fairly evaluate the alcohol and select the best alcohol from each type.
Sung Si Kyung's liquor won the grand prize in the Korean Liquor - Muddy Rice - Namakgeolli - Traditional Liquor category. This is a muddy liquor made with 100% Korean rice and has a high rice content of 46.23%.
Sung Si Kyung, a famous alcoholic drinker, participated in the product development process, and the product was highly anticipated by the general public even before its release. It has a rich texture, sweet and sour taste, and a rich blend of fruit and yogurt.
This fresh makgeolli has a distinctive aroma, and Sung Si Kyung suggested drinking it on the rocks with ice, collecting Hot Topics for drinking it in a way that is different from typical cloudy alcohol.
Meanwhile, Sung Si Kyung will be performing "Celebration" at the Yonsei University outdoor theater in Seoul for three days on May 4th (Sat), 5th (Sun), and 6th (Mon).
