<インタビュー>クォン・ユリ(少女時代)、初の映画単独主演へのプレッシャーや「少女時代」メンバーとの関係性について語る「良い影響をやり取り」
<Interview> Kwon YURI (SNSD (Girls' Generation)) talks about the pressure of starring in his first movie Exclusive and his relationship with the members of ”SNSD (Girls' Generation)” ”Exchanging positive influences”
Kwon Yuri, a member of the South Korean girl group Girls' Generation and an actress, played her first solo film lead role in the film Dolphin. She tried a new challenge as an actress by relaxing both in terms of appearance and acting.

In a recent interview with Herald POP at a café in Seoul, Kwon Yuri talked about her motivation for appearing in the film.

Kwon Yuri said, "I have always been interested in independent films. It has a lot of freedom and diversity in its material. My mother used to watch a lot of independent films on TV at home, so naturally I started watching a lot of them too. I watched them with the idea that they were very fresh. When I received the scenario, the story about the people around you who seem to be by your side was small and emotional. I wanted to act as Nayoung once."

She continued: 'I received the scenario for the first time and didn't have time to worry or think about such things (her first starring role in a film) until we started filming. When I concentrated on the scene, I didn't have the energy to feel the pressure and weight, but when I started promotional activities and had the chance to come out and speak as a representative, I didn't realise how much it would mean to me. I thought if this is exactly the weight of being a starring role, then it is a weight. I don't have time to think about the score or anything else. I thought that the role had been thrown to me and I concentrated on filming it as hard as I could."

She added: "My face is so big on the poster that I was puzzled. I wondered why it was so big and only one person was on the poster. There are parts where Nayoung is leading the story, but I think it's more of a family story than a story about Nayoung alone".

In addition, Girls' Generation members Tiffany, Sooyoung, YoonA and SoHyun, who made their debut with Kwon Yuri, are taking a similar path by expanding their field of activities as actresses. YoonA also attended the VIP preview of the film 'Dolphin' to show her support and create a friendly atmosphere.

Kwon Yuri confided, "It seems that the members of Girls' Generation have a good influence on each other".

She continued, "YoonA told me that she watched the show with ease and enjoyment. YoonA also particularly likes films with this kind of lyrical and emotional mood. From the moment the trailer came out, she said, 'I think it's good. I wanted to do something like this too'."

She added: 'I think the members are the only actress friends I can relate to. We have grown up in too similar lives, in similar environments, and we have similar paths to go down, so it's great that we can talk nicely", but added, "On the other hand, we are also too similar, so there are many cautious aspects. On the other hand, we are very similar, so we are often cautious.

Not only that, but she added: "Sometimes when I'm tired and have negative thoughts, it's a good stimulus to see the members being energetic and active. Their very presence seems to have a great influence. I get a lot of courage and inspiration from seeing the members taking on challenges. Watching Sooyoung try her hand at short films and independent films made me want to try it too, and watching the members trying their hand at musicals made me imagine that one day I could do it too. I started to dream that one day I could also attract an audience of 10 million people when I saw that 'Kyousuke' and 'EXIT', in which YoonA performed, were hits," he confessed.

With that, she added: "I thought it was just me, but it was everyone else too. Sooyoung also decided to try theatre after seeing me do it, and YoonA said she wanted to do it too. It seems we are exchanging good influences with each other," she revealed.

Meanwhile, Kwon Yuri's first solo lead role in the film Dolphin, which thoughtfully depicts the story of a woman in her 30s who has never left a small provincial city and experiences facing unfamiliar changes and small challenges, will be released in Korea on the 13th March.
