“解散説ハプニング”「Red Velvet」、アイリーンも再契約…残るメンバーに集まる関心
“Disbandment rumor happening” “Red Velvet”, IRENE also re-signs… Interest gathers in remaining members
Irene, a member of the national girl group "Red Velvet," has re-signed with SM Entertainment following Seulgi.

On the 7th, "Red Velvet's" agency SM Entertainment announced the news of their re-signing with Aileen, stating, "Aileen has re-signed with SM Entertainment based on her deep trust and will be developing a wide range of activities with their full support."

Aileen also shared her thoughts on the re-signing. Irene said, "I am re-signing with the staff of the company that I have worked with since my debut and with SM, who have helped me to become the person I am today. I would like to show my gratitude to the fans who always support 'Red Velvet' and show them a good figure through various activities with the members this year."

Irene is the second member of "Red Velvet" to re-sign with SM Entertainment; the first member to re-sign with SM Entertainment was Seulgi.

Prior to this, last November, "Red Velvet" was surrounded by theories that they were going to break up. At the time, "Red Velvet" was preparing to release their full album "Chill Kill," and SM Entertainment changed the profile of the official "Red Velvet" SNS account to "Happy Ending," causing controversy.

Some people thought that "Red Velvet" was going to break up when they saw the words "Happy Ending" and many people thought that it implied the end of "Red Velvet".

In response, SM Entertainment explained that the change was made to match the new album concept. At the time, "Red Velvet" was celebrating its ninth anniversary, and it was not known whether or not the members, with the exception of Seulgi, would be re-signed, which raised many questions.

With SM Entertainment's explanation, the "Red Velvet" breakup theory was put to rest as a happening. However, there was uncertainty about whether or not "Red Velvet" leader Aileen would sign a new contract, but fortunately, Aileen announced that she would sign a new contract and work with the members this year.

With Aileen re-signing with SM Entertainment following Surgi, attention is now focused on whether or not the remaining members, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri, will re-sign with SM Entertainment.
