A claim was raised that a certain Park, a woman in her 20s who was detained on suspicion of blackmailing the late actor Lee Sung Kyun and defrauding him of tens of millions of won (several million yen), has spent time in prison for committing fraud against dozens of people in the past.

YouTuber "Karakula," who disclosed Park's identity, said on April 12 through his YouTube channel "Karakula Crime Lab," "After conducting research against people in the vicinity, Park went to prison for a fake brand goods sales scam in 2015 when she was 20 years old."

According to media reports at the time, Mr. Park was detained in October of the same year on suspicion of having stolen 65 million won (approximately 7 million yen) from 76 people over a period of two months from August to September 2015 by posting false statements on SNS about selling "good quality fake brand goods".

He deceived his victims by placing pictures of real luxury brand goods in his sales ads and pretending that the buyers had sent him a message saying that they had received the goods well. After receiving the money through an acquaintance's bank account, he postponed the delivery of the goods on the grounds that customs clearance procedures for overseas delivery were complicated, and then disappeared, according to the report.

The "Karakula" group claims that Park used the money to buy authentic brand-name bags, and lived a luxurious life as a housekeeper in a luxury apartment in Gangnam, Seoul.

Karakula" said, "I cheated 76 people out of 65 million won over a period of two months, while claiming to sell fake brand-name goods. In addition, he posted a review under a different ID saying that he had received the goods," he said.

Park was arrested on October 5 on suspicion of blackmailing Lee Sung-kyun by demanding 200 million won (approximately 21.7 million yen) and defrauding him out of 50 million won (extortion and attempted extortion). A certain Kim, the head of the office of an entertainment facility who was a close friend of the suspect, has already been detained and indicted on charges of marijuana and moxibustion, and the extortion charge was added to the list.

When "Karakula" recently disclosed his name, face, and other identities, Park filed a "prison complaint" against him for defamation.
