A bill to consent to the arrest of South Korea's largest opposition party leader is passed by the National Assembly; the Democratic Party of Japan faces a difficult situation ahead of next year's general election.

On the 21st of this month, South Korea's National Assembly voted with a majority in favor of consenting to the arrest of Lee Jae-myung, the representative of the Democratic Party of Korea, the largest opposition party. Representative Lee is suspected of having been involved in illegal remittances to North Korea in the past.
