In South Korea, a man in his 40s was sentenced to 40 years in prison for attacking a woman and her son with a knife, killing the boy.

On the 11th, the Daegu District Court sentenced a man in his 40s to 40 years in prison for allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend and her son with a knife, killing the boy (murder), on the grounds that they had reported the stalking.

In addition, he was ordered to complete a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program, be restricted from working at child-related institutions for seven years, and be attached to an electronic location-tracking device for 20 years.

On 28 November last year, at the home of B, a woman in her 30s, a Chinese national, in Daegu, defendant A got into an argument with B and attacked her eight-year-old son, who tried to stop them, with a knife; after killing B's son with the knife, he forced B into his car and locked her up, and also sexually assaulted her after she fainted.

Defendant A, who has Korean nationality, continued stalking B even after breaking up, and it is said that he committed the crime out of resentment that Mr. B reported the matter to the police. Defendant A attempted suicide after committing the crime but was unsuccessful.
