I want you to cooperate in building a supply chain for semiconductors, batteries, and electric vehicles.'' = President Yoon Soo-yeol met with heavyweights in the Japanese and South Korean economic circles
South Korean President Yoon Seo-gyul said on the 15th, "Since it is possible to have mutually complementary cooperation between South Korean companies with excellent manufacturing technology and Japanese companies with strong competitiveness in terms of materials, parts and equipment, I hope that companies from both countries will work together to build a stable supply chain in cutting-edge industries such as semiconductors, batteries, and electric vehicles."

According to Lee Do-eun, spokesperson for the South Korean presidential office, President Yun Seok-yue made this request on the afternoon of the same day when she received the Japanese delegation visiting South Korea to attend the Japan-Korea Business Conference at the presidential office in Yongsan.

"It took 12 years to restore Japan-South Korea shuttle diplomacy, but it took less than two months for the leaders of the two countries to visit each other" said President Yoon Seok-yeol. Since we are discussing specific cooperation plans in a wide range of fields, including people-to-people exchanges, I would like entrepreneurs from both countries to promote cooperation with a sense of urgency."

He continued, "At the G7 summit to be held in Hiroshima this weekend, Japan and South Korea will further materialize their cooperation on global issues such as health, global supply chains, and climate change. We hope that we can jointly respond to global issues through this, expand into third countries, create business opportunities, solve global problems, and contribute to the economic growth of developing countries."

In response, Mikio Sasaki, chairman of the Japan-Korea Economic Association, said, "Business people are extremely happy because dialogue between the governments of the two countries has been accelerated and shuttle diplomacy between the leaders has been resumed. I am grateful for his decisiveness and strong determination."
