According to the Yeongdeungpo Police Station, Seoul on March 23rd, a man was arrested red-handed after entering the women's locker room of a gym in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, around 7 pm on the 19th.
The man was said to have been in the locker room for about two hours at the time, wearing a long-haired wig and a black mask.
A gym official reported that a man dressed as a woman entered the changing room.
As a result of the police investigation, it was reported that they did not find any evidence of illegal filming of the inside of the locker room on the man's smartphone. In the investigation, the man said, "I entered by mistake."
Several photos were also posted on the online community with titles such as "A crossdresser in the women's locker room at Yeouido Gym." The photo shows a man wearing a wig with long hair pulled down to his back as he enters the women's locker room. He was wearing a black jacket and pink pants. There were also pictures of the man surrounded by police officers dispatched to the scene and someone grabbing his hair.
Police charged the man with violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (intrusion into multiple locations for sexual purposes) and are currently investigating.
