Korean idol, "singer" from cult religion JMS … Turns from claiming "I was ignorant" and confesses that "I was a second-generation believer"
Korean idols are causing controversy by revealing that they are from the so-called cult religion "Christian Evangelical Mission Society (JMS)".

On March 13th, the Korean entertainment media "DisPatch" released an interview with the boy group "DKZ" Kyung Yoon. In an interview with the same media, Kyung Yoon confessed that he was a "second-generation believer" and revealed that he followed his parents when he was young and attended the "JMS" church and even saw President Jeong Myung Suk.

Kyung Yoon said that he had seen news about President Jung Myung Suk, and said, "The president I saw didn't look like a sex offender. It was my fault that I was deceived."

Also, when Kyung Yoon was in his third year of junior high school, he applied for the "JMS Singer Group" and was accepted. Later, he revealed that he was taking music lessons.

Born in 2000, Kyung Yoon has been active as a member of the boy group DKZ since 2019.

Prior to this, suspicions surfaced on a Korean internet bulletin board that a cafe run by Kyung Yoon's parents is related to 'JMS'. The Netflix documentary program "All for God: Faith Betrayed", which includes a shocking revelation of President Jeong Myung-seok, who is on trial for sexually assaulting a female believer, appears in the spotlight. Ripples spread to the "idol believer theory".

In connection with the matter, Kyung Yoon's management office said, "I knew that my parents attended a specific group (DMZ) church, but I thought that (JMS church) was a normal general church." Kyung Yoon himself insisted that it "doesn't matter".

Through the agency, Kyung Yoon repeatedly said, "I didn't know about JMS," but through this interview, he said, "When the controversy first arose, out of fear, I explained myself by saying, 'I was ignorant.' I turned my eyes away because it seemed that my religious beliefs were denied," and revealed, "It may seem late, but I quit 'JMS.'"
