'Soju bomb' in a 4-liter container: 28 ambulances dispatched to U.S. uni party = Korean coverage
A TikTok challenge to make and drink a 1-gallon (about 3.8 liters) container of a cocktail using beer and soju or whiskey in Korea is popular among American college students. It is regarded as a problem.

According to the Associated Press on March 6th (local time), at a party held near the campus of the University of Massachusetts in the United States on the 4th, several students showed symptoms of acute alcohol poisoning, and 28 ambulances were dispatched.

According to media reports, there were many reports of drinking-related accidents at the time, and other organizations besides the local fire department were also involved in rescue operations. Luckily, it wasn't life-threatening. Police arrested two people on suspicion of underage drinking.

At the party, many students were seen pouring alcohol into large plastic containers. It is a liquor called so-called "BORG". It stands for "Blackout Rage Gallons". It is said to be drunk by mixing water, vodka, energy drinks, etc. in a one-gallon plastic container. From around 2020, it became popular among college students and became famous on TikTok.

The problem is that some content encourages binge drinking, such as recommending that you put more than 0.5 gallons (about 1.9 liters) of alcohol in the BORG. This is enough for 43 people.

The University of Massachusetts said it was investigating the incident, saying, "This is the first time that so many BORGs have been seen at a university party." The university also plans to strengthen education related to drinking for students.
