Seoul promotes spread of 250 hydrogen-powered 'Nesso' vehicles...Can be purchased at half price = Korean coverage
The city of Seoul announced on March 7th that it will invest approximately 8.2 billion won (about US$6million) in the first half of the year to promote the spread of 250 hydrogen-powered vehicles. Along with the popularization of electric vehicles, we aim to reduce PM2.5 in central Seoul and reduce greenhouse gases.

The subsidy amounted to 32.5 million won (about $23,000) per vehicle, the same as last year, and the only vehicle that can be applied for at present is Hyundai Motor's Nesso. Buyers will be able to buy the same model for about 70 million won (about $45,000) at half the price.

The purchase subsidy can be applied for from the 8th through a hydrogen vehicle sales agent. Applications can be made through the Ministry of Environment's Pollution-Free Vehicle Integrated Homepage, and the required documents can be requested from the homepage.

Applicants are individuals, corporations, organizations, and public institutions who have resided in Seoul or registered as a business within 30 days from the date of receipt of the purchase support application. Individuals can apply for one unit, and sole proprietors, corporations, and organizations can apply for up to 20 units per business.

All application procedures are handled by the hydrogen vehicle manufacturing and sales company, so the purchaser only needs to conclude a contract. However, only vehicles that can be left within two months can apply for the subsidy.

If you purchase a hydrogen-powered vehicle, you will receive a purchase subsidy of 32.5 million won (about $21,000), a tax exemption of up to 6.6 million won (about $4,300), a 50% reduction in parking fees for public parking lots and expressway tolls, and when the Namsan Tunnel is congested. Various preferential benefits such as toll exemption are granted.
