HK popular model Murder case, Korean media extensively report as "Hong Kong's parasite"
The Korean media has widely reported the incident in which Abby Choi (28), a popular Hong Kong model and influencer, was found mutilated, like the "Hong Kong version of movie 'parasite'."

"Parasite" is the Korean movie, which deals with incidents that occur when a wealthy person enters a house and lives as a parasite.

The South China Morning Post (SCMP), a local media outlet, reported on February 27th that parts of Abby Choi's head and ribs had been newly discovered.

Former husband Alex Kwon (28), has reportedly been charged with murdering her.

Prior to this, the local police announced on February 24th that Alex Kwon's father Kwon Kaw (65), mother (63), and brother Anthony Kwon (31) were accused of murder, damage to the body, and abandonment. The next day, her former husband Alex Kwon, who was about to leave Hong Kong, was arrested. At the time, he was reported to be in possession of 4 million Hong Kong dollars.

Police said the former husband's father and brother were charged with murdering Abby Choi, while his mother was charged with obstructing an investigation. Police later said they had arrested a fifth suspect.

"We believe that the victim and her former husband's family were fighting over a large-scale financial issue," police said. "It was partly because she was dissatisfied with the way she managed her finances," said a senior police officer. The house where part of the body was found was rented several weeks earlier and was unfurnished, so it is believed it was rented with the intention of damaging the body.

According to local media reports, it has become clear that the suspect's family relied on Abby Choy's assets to survive after she and her former husband divorced. For this reason, it is called the "Parasite Family".

Abby Choi's ex-husband's luxury apartment was purchased after she divorced her ex-husband in 2019. Her ex-husband, his brother, and his parents lived in the luxury apartment, and no one had a job except his brother, who was Abby Choi's driver. In other words, the former husband and his family were the 'parasite family' that continued to parasitize Abby Choi.

On the other hand, Abby Choi has recently been attracting attention in the world's fashion world, such as decorating the cover of Monaco's fashion magazine "L'Officiel" Internet version. She was even invited to Paris Fashion Week and also active on social media, with more than 100,000 followers on Instagram.
