Seoul build 100,000m tree-lined road to reduce fine dust = Korea
The city of Seoul announced on March 1st that it will build 100,000 meters of "tree roads to reduce fine dust" in walking and rest areas along roads to reduce fine dust and provide a comfortable walking environment.

As a result, the city will plant 113 recommended tree species for reducing fine dust, which is highly effective in reducing fine dust.

The project will include walking spaces in the city center, idle land such as traffic islands, and school routes for elementary school students.

The roadside strip, which used to be lined with only street trees, will be newly created as a linear space of 10,000 square meters. In addition, the 28,000-square-meter dilapidated roadside strip will have a multi-layered structure, and rainwater storage facilities will be installed. About 700 roadside trees will be planted where there are no roadside trees. The 63,000 square meters of idle land, such as traffic islands and median strips, will be greened by planting perennial ground cover plants, and "garden-style tree roads" will be installed in eight locations. Establish a space for citizens to rest.

In addition, 2.9 kilometers of tree-lined roads will be created along six school routes for elementary school students through the "Children's Safe Green Forest" project in cooperation with the Forestry Agency. This is expected to prevent children from being exposed to fine dust and intense heat.
