Biden Offers Putin 'Give 20% of Ukraine's Territory' to 'End War'
US President Joe Biden recently suggested to Russian President Vladimir Putin, through CIA Director William Burns, that the war should end on the condition that 20% of Ukraine's territory be handed over.

The Neue Züricher Zeitung, a major German-language daily newspaper based in Zurich, Switzerland, quoted a senior German politician as saying, "Secretary Byrnes secretly traveled to Moscow last month to discuss President Biden's 'peace proposal'. was conveyed on behalf of the White House," it reported as before.

20% of Ukraine's territory is about the same size as the total area of the eastern Donbass region targeted by President Putin.

Burns also traveled to Ukraine last month and met with President Volodymyr Zelensky, The Washington Post reports.

However, the media reported that both Russia and Ukraine rejected President Biden's 'peace offer'.

Ukraine refused, saying it had no intention of partitioning the territory, while Russia believed in winning the war in the long run.

President Biden recently decided to provide tank aid to Ukraine. "This is also believed to be due to the refusal of the territorial division proposal to avoid prolonging the war in Ukraine," the media said.

The Biden administration is in the position of "wanting to end the Ukraine war as soon as possible."

Secretary Burns and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said, "We have to somehow end the war so that we can focus on China," while US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said, "Russia is to blame. The scale of military assistance to Ukraine must be increased so that the U.S. rule-based order will not be destroyed in the 2010-2010 election," and it seems that the difference in enthusiasm between the two sides was apparent.

In the end, the proposals of Secretary Burns and Assistant Secretary Sullivan were sounded out but were rejected by both Russia and Ukraine, and the proposals of Secretary Brinken and Secretary Austin were adopted.
