Korea Rep. Jung Wooyoung (Al Sadd/32), who previously captained J.League Vissel Kobe, revealed that Japan's victory over Spain "gave me power."

The South Korean national soccer team, led by Paulo Bento, beat Portugal in the final match of Group H of the 2022 Qatar World Cup group stage to advance to the last 16.

Before the match, Jung Woo-young, who arrived at the venue and responded to the interview, said, "I will never look back, I must win unconditionally."

Regarding Japan's victory over Spain to advance to the last 16, he said, "All the players watched the game. (Japan's victory) gave us power." It was wonderful to see them win against the world's strongest team on such a stage, and it boosted our motivation," praising Japan's victory.
