Korean ver. of NASA "Space and Aerospace Agency" will be newly established next year
The Korean version of NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) will be established next year. The Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Defense Business Administration, and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute established a new control tower to supervise space policy, establishing a new space powerhouse. Aim to make a leap forward. Through this, President Yoon Seo-gyul plans to step on the accelerator in earnest to realize his vision for the future space economy.

According to the South Korean presidential office on November 28th, the South Korean government plans to legislate a "special law for the establishment of the Japan Aerospace Agency" by the end of the year and begin consultations with related departments. After that, they will submit a special law to the Diet in the first quarter of next year, and if the special law is enacted after passing the Diet in the second quarter, preparations will be made for developing subordinate laws and starting international joint research with NASA, etc. After the work, they will set the goal of starting the operation of the Japan Aerospace Agency within the next year.

An establishment promotion team will be set up to take charge of the actual establishment of the Japan Aerospace Agency. The establishment promotion team, which will soon be launched under the direction of the president, will carry out work for the opening of the Japan Aerospace Agency, including enactment of a special law, organizational design, securing personnel and budget, and preparation of government buildings.

The new Space Agency will be established under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Information Communication. The Korean government plans to give the Director General of the Aerospace Agency, who is a vice-ministerial level, the right of autonomy in terms of organizing and dismantling the organization and determining salaries, in order to smoothly carry out the space development program.
