A suspect who is believed to be the main culprit of the "Second nth room" incident, which threatened minors and produced and distributed sexual exploitation material, has been arrested in Australia.

The Seoul National Police Agency Cyber Crime Investigation Team cooperated with the Australian police to identify A, a man in his mid-20s who is suspected of producing and distributing sexually exploiting material of minors (violating the Child and Youth Sexual Protection Act, etc.). It was announced on November 25th that the arrest was made on the 23rd.

Suspect A, also known as "L", was accused of threatening nine minor victims and distributing sexual exploitation videos on Telegram from around the end of December 2020 until August 15th.

Suspect A changed his nickname on Telegram from time to time and repeatedly opened and closed chat rooms that spread sexually exploitative material while continuing his crimes. He left Telegram at the end of August and went into hiding after police investigations began.

The police analyzed the contents of the telegram conversation and identified the identity of suspect A, and on October 19th, an arrest warrant was issued, and Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization) made an international wanted list. Suspect A, who was in the suburbs of Sydney, was arrested in a cooperative investigation conducted jointly with the local police in Australia, and is currently being detained.

The Seoul National Police Agency arrested 15 people who were directly or indirectly involved in the process of attracting and intimidating the victim together with A, sent 13 people (2 detained), and investigated the remaining 2 people. continuing. Ten people were arrested, including those who sold, disseminated, possessed, or viewed videos produced by suspect A, or disclosed information about the victim, eight were sent (three detained), and the remaining two were investigated.
