Seoul to create "3 major MICE hubs" by 2030: Jamsil, Seoul Station, and Magok
By 2030, the Seoul Station, Jamsil Sports Complex, and Magok area will be created as Seoul's three major MICE bases. MICE attract large-scale tourists through corporate conferences, reward tourism, international conferences, exhibitions and expositions, and is known as the "flower of face-to-face industry." These three locations will be constructed with about 230,000 square meters of MICE facilities, which is 3.5 times the current level.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on November 23rd that it has established the Seoul Mice Medium-Term Development Plan (2023-2027) to respond to the rapid changes in the Mice industry triggered by digital transformation and the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

With the goal of becoming a "Sustainable Smart Mice City," the city of Seoul will promote this plan through four major areas and 17 core issues. The four major areas are △ building a foundation for future growth of smart MICE, △ building a convergent MICE platform, △ creating a sustainable and welcoming growth ecosystem, and △ expanding global private-public governance.

According to this plan, by 2030, through private development projects, the city of Seoul will expand exhibition and convention facilities in the △ Jamsil Stadium area, △ the northern area of Seoul Station, and △ Magok. It will be doubled (about 65,000 square meters → about 230,000 square meters). In addition, we will create 'Mice cooperative complexes' for three bases in the southwest area (Magok Seoul Botanical Garden), the downtown area (Seoul Station, Namsan, Gwanghwamun area), and the southeastern area (Jamsil COEX area), aggregating leisure and convenience facilities for culture, transportation and tourism.

The city of Seoul plans to share the plan at the Seoul Mice Alliance Annual General Meeting to be held on November 24th.
