North Korea launched a ballistic missile presumed to be an ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) on November 18th.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said, "Our military is believed to have launched a long-range ballistic missile over the East Sea (Sea of Japan) from around Sunan in Pyongyang at around 10:15 am on the 18th.

The South Korean military is currently maintaining a readiness posture under the cooperation between the United States and South Korea while enhancing surveillance and vigilance.

Japan's Ministry of Defense also announced that "North Korea has launched an object believed to be a ballistic missile." Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said, "It appears that a North Korean missile fell into Japan's EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone)."

North Korea's ICBM launch is the first in half a month since a long-range ballistic missile presumed to be the Hwasong-17, failed to fly normally on November 3rd.
