South Korean foreign minister openly proposes "Japan-China-South Korea trilateral summit'' at ASEAN meeting
South Korea's Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin said on the 4th,he made an official proposal to hold a Japan-China-South Korea trilateral summit at the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) +3 (Japan-China-South Korea) Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

According to South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Park Jin attended the ASEAN+3 Foreign Ministers' Meeting held at the Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on the same day met with the heads of 10 ASEAN countries.

At this meeting, Minister Park Jin said, "Trilateral cooperation among Japan, China, and South Korea is important for the peace and prosperity of the region," and added, We will explore ways to revitalize cooperation" he said.

Under the theme of this year's ASEAN-related conferences, "Addressing Challenges Together," the participants of the day's conference discussed post-pandemic economic recovery and health cooperation proposals. We exchanged views on the regional situation.

Minister Park Jin said, "Remembering that the ASEAN+3 has successfully dealt with the COVID-19 virus crisis, the ASEAN+3 work plan adopted on the occasion of this day's meeting will address supply chain disruption, inflation, food "Let's overcome today's challenges such as the energy crisis together."

The ASEAN+3 Work Plan is a cooperation plan adopted every five years and consists of △politics, security, △economy, △society and culture.

In connection with the economic recovery plan, the conference participants also appreciated the entry into force of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement this year, which will contribute to supply chain recovery and trade and investment promotion.
