Unconventional system of LINE Plus ... Remote work from overseas is possible within 4 hours time difference = Korean coverage
"LINE Plus", an affiliated company of Naver, will implement the "Hybrid Work 2.0" work system from July.

In the form of "Hybrid Work 1.0" that works alternately at home and office, items such as remote work from overseas and hybrid work support money have been newly established. If the time difference is within 4 hours based on the Korean time standard, you can work from any region overseas.

However, this is the first attempt, and in consideration of related legal factors, the available period of the system has been limited to 90 days at the maximum until March next year, which is the end of the current fiscal year. LINE Plus said, "We plan to consider expanding the system in consideration of the future situation."

The areas where you can work under the current standards are Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Maldives, Guam, New Zealand, Saipan, Australia, etc., which are the main markets of the line, and are adjusted by country-specific immigration and travel policies.

LINE Plus has also decided to support "Hybrid Workpoints," which are cash points for creating a hybrid work environment. Line officers and employees can use cash points worth 2.04 million won (about US$2,000 a month) to prepare a remote work environment or use them when working in the office.

In addition, the line reinforced company-wide collaboration rules (ground rules) in line with the COVID-19 endemic (infectious diseases that prevail in certain seasons and regions). In addition to the conventional common rules such as creating a centralized work environment at remote work locations, additional rules have been prepared for face-to-face meetings and exchanges. If face-to-face collaboration is required due to onboarding of new members, project progress, etc., it is possible to work by establishing organizational rules that reflect the status of hybrid work. Office renovation that reflects hybrid work will be completed July.

Considering that the optimal work style may diversify by job, organization, and individual, the line has decided not to present a uniform work system common to the entire company. We plan to continue a hybrid work system that allows you to select various combinations from "full remote work" to "n times a week remote work".

Other welfare programs will also be strengthened. The scale of interest support for loans will be expanded to support interest equivalent to 1.5% up to 200 million won (about $198,000) in 10 years. A new pregnancy celebration money system has been established in addition to the conventional 1 million won (about $900) childbirth support money, and 500,000 won (about $498) cash welfare points when the officer or employee or his / her spouse becomes pregnant.

Lee Eun Jon of LINE plus, said, "LINE has built confidence that executives and employees can achieve self-contained results based on autonomy and responsibility, and we are expanding work flexibility based on this. We will continue to search for and develop optimal work styles that can produce the best results, while also seeking support for former companies."
