On June 13th (local time), Newsweek, a US current affairs weekly magazine, reported that Poklonskaya was dismissed from the post of deputy secretary of the Russian government agency.
"I am moving to another place of work. I am always grateful for the trust and support of Russian President Vladimir Putin," Poklonskaya posted in her telegram account. Her dismissal was reportedly due to the anger of high-ranking bureaucrats in her opposition to the recent invasion of Ukraine.
In a speech at an international forum in April this year, Poklonskaya described the invasion of Ukraine as a "disaster" and said, "Many people have died and millions of refugees have occurred. My two home countries are pointing guns each other. I didn't want either side."
She also posted a sentence on SNS criticizing the "Z" mark, which symbolizes Russia's support for military invasion. "Z is a symbol of tragedy in both Russia and Ukraine. It is dangerous to blindly worship any symbol."
