Chief of Naval Operations insists on "strengthening Taiwan's military power" ... Chinese opposes "interference in domestic affairs"
Chief of Naval Operations Michael Gildy of the United States called for Taiwan's need to strengthen its military power to address the potential risks of China on May 17th. The Chinese side is repelling that it is "intervention in domestic affairs."

"The United States admits that Taiwan is part of China on the one hand, while the United States is touting the risk of the continent (China) invading Taiwan," said Ou Bun-Hin, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. On oner hand, he says he does not support Taiwan independence, but on the other hand, he deletes phrases such as "Taiwan is a part of China" and "Do not support Taiwan independence" from the homepage of the Ministry of State. The act raises doubts about its rigor and effectiveness as to whether the United States really adheres to its position as "one China."

On top of that, "Betrayal of trust not only damages one's image, but also comes at a reasonable price. If they (the United States) violates its promise with the Taiwan issue, it will inevitably be subject to historic punishment."
