UN "Climate change indicators are the worst, climate disasters are approaching" = Korean press
The four core indicators of the seriousness of climate change records record highs.

According to the "2021 Global Climate Status Report" released by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on May 18th (local time), the carbon dioxide concentration in 2020 was calculated to be 413.2 ppm. The value reached 149% compared to before industrialization, and the greenhouse gas concentration was also the highest ever.

The red light of climate change can also be seen from the sea. Global average sea level rises by an average of 4.5 millimeters a year between 2013 and 2021, more than double the annual average rise of 2.1 millimeters between 1993 and 2002.

The report cites "glacier loss" as the main cause of accelerating sea level rise. Similarly, seawater temperature and ocean acidification are also issues. In the case of seawater temperature, the upper part of the ocean 2000 meters becomes warm, and this phenomenon is expected to continue in the future.

The pH value, which indicates ocean acidification, is the lowest in the last 26,000 years. This is because the ocean has absorbed 23% of the annual carbon dioxide emissions that are artificially generated. As ocean acidification progresses, the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by the atmosphere will decrease, and the earth's self-cleaning function will decline.

The average annual temperature of the earth was also the highest in the seven years from 2015 to 2021. It is 1.11°C higher than before industrialization.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed concern that "the global energy system has collapsed and climate disasters are even closer."
