COVID-19 "Re-diffusion" in NY ... Recommended to "wear indoor mask" again
Due to the re-spread of the COVID-19 virus infection in New York, most areas were once again subject to the "indoor mask wear" recommendation. Within the United States, less than two months after the obligation to wear indoor masks was lifted, New York State issued a recommendation to "re-wear the mask."

The New York Times (NYT) said, "The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guides us as a" high-risk "region because of the surge in new COVID-19 infections in most parts of New York." It was reported on May 13th (local time).

The CDC recommends that "wear a mask indoors, including at school," for "high-risk areas."

New York has not yet mandated indoor masks, but state health officials said today that "high-risk" and "intermediate" residents should wear masks indoors regardless of vaccination.

"This epidemic prevention measure (such as wearing a mask), along with proper ventilation, will help reduce COVID-19 infections in the community and reduce the risk of serious illness and hospitalization," said New York State Health Director.

According to NYT data, the number of new cases per day in New York was estimated to be more than 10,000 on a 12-day basis, an increase of 47% from two weeks ago. The average daily hospitalization also increased from 15 of two weeks ago to 20.
