"Refusal to board in clothes written in English swear words", Korean female DJ receive apology from airline company
SODA (real name: Hwang Sohee / 34), a Korean female DJ who was denied boarding an aircraft wearing pants with swearing words in English, has revealed that she has been apologized by the airline.

SODA claimed, "I had to take off my pants at the entrance of the plane that everyone was looking at. I was able to board the plane with my pants turned upside down."

According to the Maeil Business Newspaper on May 9th, SODA's management office company Blue director Chang Pil-jun said, "I received an apology email from American Airlines and collected it."

An email sent by an American Airlines customer service representative said, "We expect the team to treat all customers fairly, consistently and politely to provide professional service. I sincerely regret what happened to Ms. Hwang and apologize for her lack of expertise."

They continued, "We do not tolerate or condone any disrespect or different treatment based on race, religion, ethnicity, or any other discriminatory factor. The incident is under investigation and we will take thorough measures to alleviate Ms. Hwang's concerns. The results of the internal investigation will not be made public, but training, consultation, and if necessary, disciplinary action can be taken," they wrote.

However, regarding SODA's clothing, the airline "is striving to create a calm environment for all passengers. Therefore, customers can be requested to wear appropriate clothing. Discomforting clothing is not acceptable.

A management office official said, "She've been on American Airlines planes several times in this outfit before, but it's okay. She don't know in advance that it can be offensive to others. She also feel that SODA herself did not reach the part."
